VE Day Event – CCF Support from Y8 Pupil

Last Thursday Woodchurch celebrated VE Day 80 with a programme of events organised by Woodchurch Remembers. The formal evening ceremonies began at the war memorial in All Saints Church grounds with a wreath laying and a reading of the names of the fallen. This was followed by a Sunset Ceremony and the lighting of our beacon on the Green.
Cadet Joshua Carroll (Year 8) took part in both events as part of the escort to our standard. Cadet Carroll was well turned out, polite and helpful throughout and a credit to the CCF. The final act of the ceremony was the lighting of the beacon by firing an electric detonator, Cadet Carroll did the honours!
Well Done and We will remember them.
