Battlefields Tour 2025 – Day 2 & 3

Day 2 – The Y9 Battlefields group have been deep underground this afternoon exploring the Wellington Tunnels beneath Arras. We then paid a visit to local hero Walter Tull, the first black officer of the First World War. We’re excited to head back to the Château now for some dinner and artefact handling!
Day 2 – Battlefields Tour 2025 – Evening Activities!
New experiences for all of us as we tasted snails and handled WW1 artefacts last night! Some of our students even had a go at building their own tanks!
The gun was a decommissioned WW1 rifle and our students had a talk about its history and then were allowed to handle it.
Some of our boys bought some Lego in the gift shop – it was a set to build your own tank. Lovely to see them taking an interest and building the piece together!
Day 3 – Battlefields Tour 2025 – Final Update
A busy last day on the Battlefields for our Year 9s. We’ve explored the replica trenches at Hooge Crater and visited the humbling cemeteries of Tyne Cot and Langemark. We’ve even had time for a quick ice cream break!
